Living interstate or overseas? No problem!!

It is easy  for me to help you organize your ceremony from anywhere in the world.

The “Notice of intended marriage” form which I must receive at least one month and one day before your intended marriage date can be downloaded from this site. You need to fill it in using a BLACK pen and all surnames must be in capital letters
eg: fathers name in full will read like so.
John Malcolm SMITH
Mothers full maiden name
Mandy Elizabeth JONES

Country of birth cannot be United Kingdom you must state either, England, Scotland or Wales.

Please note: children born out of wedlock are not recorded on this document even if you then married the child’s other parent after their birth.

If you live in Australia you can have your signatures witnessed by the appropriate people as described on the back form page 4 of 4.

If you live overseas you will also find on this page who can witness your signature. A notary public will usually endorse the notice with a special seal. You can find the names of notaries in your phone book, library, or your local member of parliament will point you in the right direction.

I will need to sight your birth certificates if you are an Australian Citizen and or your passport if you are not a resident of Australia. Also any other paperwork such as death certificates of last previous marriage partner or divorce absolutes from your last marriage.
This must be done before the marriage can take place. So please don’t forget to bring them!!!

Some times a couple will photocopy these documents and send them to me so I can check that the information on the NOTICE is correct but! I still need to sight the originals when you arrive.

Once we have an agreement for me to marry you, I will zip and e-mail you a copy of my wedding planning guide. This has lots of different ideas for you to choose from to help you put together a ceremony that will be personal and special to you and your guests.
Everything in the manual is open to translation and we can re write anything to fit in with your ideas and vision for the day.

NEVER hesitate to e-mail or call if you need help and I am happy for you to include anything you have found else where, as long as all the legalities are adhered to we have a lot of leeway as to what we can do.

The most important thing is that the two of you have on your day a ceremony that reflects the values and beliefs you have and together we will work to make that happen.

Again please note: you may have religious content in a civil ceremony but as a civil celebrant I am not allowed to do it. So if you want a bible reading or prayer you will need to ask someone else to come forward to present it.

I hope that this information has made your decision to be married here a lot easier.
Don’t forget on my link page you will find lots of other professional people who will also be able to help make this day as relaxed and stress free as possible.
